Need It’s Serving/ It’s Goals: Primarily, to provide homeowners access to competent, vetted contractors and laborers for home remodeling/ renovation projects at the right price. It removes the risk of overpaying for a contracting job, and/or paying for subpar or unsatisfactory work.

Membership Fee: $50

Origin: John’s kitchen is falling apart. The counter tops are cracked, the cabinetry is splitting, the stove won’t light, and put plainly, it’s just outdated.  The house was built in 1990 and the kitchen has never been updated. He called a contractor for an estimate to remodel the kitchen, the laundry room, and the powder room and was shocked to find that new counter tops, new shelves, and a new sink, costs upwards of $120,000. That’s when John realized that price might be including what he calls the “Hudson Premium”, or inflated costs because of where he lived (Hudson is a “nice” community).

The last thing John wants to do is overpay for his home remodeling project, especially when he runs the risk of hiring a crew that does unsatisfactory work. This scenario has already played out in John’s world. The remodeling work done on his previous house was beyond sub par and overpriced.

Realizing that renovations and updates come with the territory of owning a home, John figured anyone who owned a home and wanted to retain its value for a future resale (or just was tired of looking at an outdated room) would benefit by joining together and using the leverage of size to ensure high quality, satisfactory work without overpaying.
