Type of Cooperative: Consumer/ Producer

Need it is Serving/ It’s Goals: Providing better-quality, local craft beer at a better price for consumers and members. Also, providing brewing equipment and space for members who are trying to brew their own craft beer brand. The cooperative model keeps costs low and will allow producer members to incubate their brand, while allowing other members to purchase high quality craft beer at a good price.

Who Should Join: Startup brewers, people interested in brewing and selling their own beer, people who drink beer

Benefits For Members:

  • Access to high end brewing equipment at a reduced cost
  • Access to other members beer at a lower price
  • Tasting parties
  • Minimal time commitment
  • Access to various resources through cooperative network
  • Access to brewing resources and educational tools

Membership Fee: $50 (to join) $100,000 for brewery slot

Barley Grail Origin: Recognizing that there is a growing demand for craft beer, and that the costs of starting a brewery is outrageous, a cooperative brewery can keep costs low for individuals (or groups) who are launching their beer brand. Also, craft beer afficianados enjoy high quality craft beer at a lower cost.
